Hi,

Thinking of buying a 350Z jap import. I know the UK and European spec cars had a suspension retune at the Nissan Technical centre in Cranfield before they were launched which supposedly made a dramatic difference to the handling on this countries roads. Does anybody know whether this mod was made to the Japanese cars? I heard it was to be carried over onto all 350Zs worldwide, when did this happen? Are there any other performance disadvantages to buying an import 350Z?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

performance discussion here: http://forum.ebaumsworld.com/archive/index.php/t-129
I have seen & read a detailed comparison for both somewhere(anybody?) I'll try dig it up.
Stuff I can remember: Uk spec 350z's also have better brakes, bigger fuel tank, uprated suspension pack, interior is slightly better(centre console plastics etc)
[scratch head] erm...I'll get back to you.

Thanks, it seems that there is a fair bit of difference depending on the spec you buy. Things like cooling fins on the diff. Working for a major OEM though I find it hard to see why they would deliberately add this level of complexity during the build of the car.

It seems the suspension changes went global in Apr. 2004 and the Brembos were always optional in Japan.

I am on the mods board on the Z site, If you go and search there you will find lots of advice! One good thing is that the import has more power due to a slightly different set up ECU.
Here's a thread for you to look at... I see you have posted on the sit already!
