My MR2 turbo will be sold this sunday (hopefully the guy won't pull out of the sale!) been trying to sell the car the last month and a half.

i got banned from driving for 56 days a while back as i was caught at *cough* 119mph on the A130 although best i was caught than if i had crashed i guess!
got an SP30 (second one on licence, already had a SP30 and 3 points) anyway got another SP30 and a 56 days ban but no points and a £300 fine + £35 costs.

getting myself a BMW 328i coupe, totally different car and no where near the pace or the fun factor of the MR2 but still it'll be a nice drive while i wait for my licence to clear itself again.

sold the MR2 for a bargin £3300 surely it's worth more! still never mind, either that or part ex it for £2500 and at least it was an IMOC member buying it so i'm kinda happy about that!

love me jap chat so will carry on reading this forum time to time

Sad news....was the insurance just too much after a ban, or was the sale just to stop you getting into more trouble?

The 328i can't be that much cheaper to insure can it?

MR2 = £1700 FC

BMW 328 = £1000 FC

bit of a difference, sold due to insurance but also runnings costs ect using the super all the time was pricey plus oil changes every 3k was pissing me off a bit, no rear seats and the temptation to boot up that turbo always there too!

the 328 is nice so really like it, drives totally different and not sluggish so i'm happy.

As Gazboy has just mentioned i have a 328i sport. If you click on my user name you will see a pic of mine.

I have done some mods to it and they were well worth doing too! I had some 18inch Alpinas put on with some 225/40/18 Toyo tyres. Gruppe N carbon fibre induction system, a set of Eibach lowering springs and an exhaust back box.

The car makes a fantastic sound now. Handling is very sharp and goes very well too!

The car is rmaking 219bhp @ 5250rpm (193 bhp standard) and 221 ftlb torque.

But in my experience they are not cheap. I have had mine since January 05 and have had to replace many wear and tear items. So much so i have reciepts up to £5k. And that is not including the performance extras or wheels. This is using Birds UK at £62 per hour. (cheaper than BMW)

The car always gets serviced at Birds uk in uxbridge, they are the recomemded Hartge Tuners for the UK. What they dont know about BMW's it is not worth knowing.

They have recomemded to me that i use 98 octane in the car otherwise damage will accur. In my experience, if you use regular unleaded the engine will over run when turning the engine off.

If i drive steady (and i mean steady) a full tank (£56) will cover 240 miles. If i gun it, i am lucky to get 175 from the tank. These figures do sound alot, but i know the engine is in perfect condition, it goes in for two monthly check ups. Sad i know, i just love my car!

The 328 is a fine car. Its different to the MR2, but still a good car. rwd, and a decent engine, so you can still have fun. just remember that you have to drive in the outside lane with us Audi drivers!
