A friend of mine is thinking of a mid/late nineties Impreza turbo. He's been told the rear seats don't fold down. This would stop him putting his fishing gear in. Is this the case?

My 01 WRX saloon rear seats definatly did'nt fold down. Its only the Wagon Impreza's that have fold down seats. I assume the earlier ones would be the same.....

Thanks.

Did any of the models have a ski hatch in the rear seats?

The seats fold down in "classic" shape UK spec saloons. (Apart from some special editions)

All UK classic Impreza saloons (MY94 - MY00) had a split fold rear seat. AFAIK only the RB5 and P1 had the jap-spec solid rear bulkhead which meant no folding rear seats.

Terzo is another classic that does not have a folding rear seat either.

(sometimes I wish it did)

It's only a case of undoing 5 12mm bolts before the seats come out!
There's NOT a solid bulkhead behind them at all - just a single 1" square section brace bar.
