Can read thread, unfortunately need a log-in for the before & after pics tho.

Jayyyzussss Well he's gutted, obviously, but lucky there were no serious injuries, & for such a stoopid thing. Driving & texting, I know wimin are supposed to be better multi-taskers but driving without due care like that really needs looking at(before I start a war of the sexes, I have no typical 'wimin drivers' issues ). Better real world & regular driving education, all round & for everone, imo.

I managed to miss an incident not too dis-similar to that in my Saxo (many moons ago...)

Road works had closed the other side off the road, so they set up traffic lights. I stopped for the redlight, and noticed a Toyota Rav4 coming barreling up behind me, showing no sign of stopping. I pumped my brake pedal so my brake lights would flash, and then all of a sudden, the front of the Rav4 dipped and smoke came pouring from the front wheels. I had one chance to go, dumped the clutch and into the roadworks coned off area, and she skidded to a halt about 2 feet from where my front bumper would have been!!!! And yes, you guessed it, she was texting!!!!

Having been that close myself, I honestly feel that anyone who doesn't pay attention behind the wheel of the car, and causes injuries to someone else should be tried for GBH, not just driving without due care & attention.

The other driver in the Supe story should do at least 200 hours Community Service IMO, preferably a small stint in prison.

Digressing but relevant imo. Lets be careful out there turbo nutter rwd'ers et al.As if it wasn't bad enough with all the other numpties on the road. I don't know what conditions are like everywhere else but in the s/w we are having 100-120mtr MAX visibility & some VERY greasy roads.

Get him to make a big deal of his bust ribs, if it's not too late - if someone is "injured" in an accident then the police have to investigate as it becomes a criminal matter. Might be too late given time after accident though. Two things:-

- check this out in detail first - I've not experienced this directly, a friend told me this after a copper had asked him some 'pointed' questions about his ribs (cracked) after he'd caused an accident...he told me he could've kissed the copper for that oblique advice.
- make 100% sure he can't be fingered for the cause of the accident - modded Supra versus little shopping car - guess who's going to be looked at more closely if there's any doubt!

That is so said. Ernie is a lovely guy who clearly loves/loved his car. The nice thing about Ernie was he liked to use the car properly ( Nurburgring etc). Sure he will be into another Supra soon.

Definately take it easy out there people - we've lost 4 cars in the last few weeks over on MRC 'due to conditions'. The winter cull has started early. Some of the crashes are even from people who know their cars well, not just new owners.

This even applies to you 4wd nutters!!!
