Does seem too good to be true. Although without further info (service history etc) you cant say for sure. It could also turn out to be bargain of the century.

Wasn't there a thread like this the other week about a Supe that "seemed" too cheap???

Best plan of action is to call the guy and find out.

And yes, black RX7's are

What he said.

Wasn't any mileage, was there? From the ad it *seems* to be on its original engine, even so if the chassis etc is ok the price reflects possibilty of a rebuild in X months/years.

Btw, a wankel is a lot simpler to rebuild than a piston engine.

As Gazboy said in this thread it could either be mullered, or the guy is genuine and after a mega quick sale. But he's priced it so that people looking for a minter will instantly think somethings wrong.
If all is ok, someones gonna get a hell of a car for not much money!!!

I'd agree on poss wanting a quick sale. As for the comment in the ad about decent comepression meaning no rebuild is imminent - unfortunately that's not strictly true as water seals could fail but not affect compression. Like wot happened to mine!

Still - 5k + 2.5k for a rebuild (or 3.5 coz you'd have to get it ported, de-catted and ecu'd ) and a mint car for a song.

I can understand wanting to go to a Supe but couldn't do it myself. I'd suspect it's a case of selling before it pops. PLus the FD isn;t a relaxing car to drive - it's too engaging for that.

not that I'm biased you'll understand

I noticed this car too, and I was going to post a thread on it but never got round to it.

My thoughts were that the owner is concerned that the engine is not far off a rebuild (anything over 60K miles is iffy) and can't be arsed with the rebuild. That said, its a 94 car so now that we've got computerised MOT's you'll need the cat to get it past the test.

It does look nice but there are other factors, you can tell by the rear number plate surround that its a Jap import, so how long has it been in the UK and whats the state of play with corrosion?

It looks totally stock, but even then aren't these things better off with some underbonnet reliability mods? New hoses, temp senders etc

I suppose you could always have a good inspection done on it and check it over a good 100 mile test drive to see if there's any exessive oil consumption (if the owner will let you)
