New Civic debuts in Jan

First public showing at the Boat Show

New Civic to debut with boats
New Civic to debut with boats
Honda will be showcasing the new Civic -- its first UK public debut -- at the 2006 London International Boat Show (6-15 January).

The Swindon-built hatch made the transformation from concept to production model almost unchanged, and will sit alongside an array of products from its marine, car and motorcycle ranges, such as four stroke outboard engines, a dedicated Honda Formula 4-Stroke powerboat stand and the new Accord.

Ye gods that's ugly - it looks like some horrible 90's American thing from the front.

It's a bit of a shame really, as the current Honda line-up doesn't look too bad.

Maybe you can turn it upside down and use it as boat? They think of everything these days, even stuff you dont want.

The only bit I don't like is that shiny grill bit, but maybe that is some sort of dodgy effect?

It looks like they've merged the old shape accord and the last shape Civic.

Although, the last shape Civic is the only one that I would say looks good (imo).

Quite why they bother remaking the Civic I dont know. Its not the the old biffers that buy them from new will notice (except the CTR obviously)

I work in Swindon and have seen the new Civic on the road a couple of times.
Looks wise I always think it's an interpretation of a what a 50's futuristic car would look like now!?
... car was metallic blue, and seen around Swindon and on the A419/A417 between Swindon and Gloucester.

I saw one on the M6 last week. I was quite disappointed as the thing looks good in pictures, but looked poor in the flesh

I've seen some on the road too, but not in Swindon. I assumed they were already on sale.

Loads better looking than the current bread van CTR but probably still too big.

Saw one yesterday near Derby. It was in black and looked really smart. Quite a surprise 'cos I thought they weren't out yet as well. It's always the way that they look radical and new to start with, but soon blend in with all the other new releases.

I was there at the launch and yes it has nicked some good ideas from other manufacturers but believe me for a fanily hatchback it looks the business and the diesel version goes like stink. It will beat/rival all those old Civic type R's out there,

I can honestly say the top of the range interior is the most exciting cabin I have ever sat in! It's got so many toys and laid out so perfectly. Look carefully and there's great design and engineering everywhere on this car and it deserves to do well. Let's hope people will buy "British" (kinda).

I like the interior, especially the way the Rev counter dominates the dashboard.
Not sure I would have it back lit in purple though (but I expect TVR fans would like that!)

This one look good

Saw a blue one driving around in Stoke 2 weeks ago. Was properly registered (not on trade plates) and just seemed to be out doing some shopping. What's going on? Are they launched or not?

Bit suspicious about the guy who claims to work for Honda, too. Surely if you did, you'd know it's VTEC, not VTECH.
