Hi All,

i think its time to get my trusty MX6 serviced. Does anyone know of a good Japanese indie place around Milton Keynes/Leighton Buzzard where i could get this done? The last service i had done at an authorised Mazda dealer cost nearly £500!!!

Sorry not much help.
OOH MX6, I lke them, very under rated, imo. don't see too many about. Arn't there some Ford Probes going around with the MX6 2.5 v6 unit in them or something?

I used to get everything done at Mann Motors. He is very good, if not a japanese specialist, and never had a problem with my dads Supra.

You know what - i love the MX6 to bits, and you are right, it is essentally the same as a Probe underneath (but infinitely better in my biased opinion!) I've never had any trouble with it, still passes 140 with ease, and is so so easy to drive And they do have that rarity factor too!

Neil - thanks for the info. Saw your Cerb at Topcats the other day - are they charging you parking space (or should that be ramp space) yet?

Is that where it is! I knew i'd lost something...

Been there off and on for around 6 months now, parts problems, busted gearbox, house move has all meant no hurry.

A work colleague has his Supra looked after by JPS Motorsport in Bletchley. He seems quite happy with them.

As another option,

Jackson & Philips in Leighton Buzzard.

They dont tend to be incredibly cheap (cheaper than main dealer prices though), but they are VERY good.

Autocar (or was in auto express?) use them for their occasional "nobody else can diagnose whats wrong with my car" features and the family has used them for many many years.

(BTW while I'm at it, Benny's in leighton town centre are perhaps untouchable for MoTs, Tyres and Exhausts - couldnt praise them highly enough)

I get my work done at Worldwide Motors in Newport Pagnell, the work isn't expensive and i've been impressed.

Hope this isn't seen as too much of a hijack... As I've just acquired a '91 1.6 Eunos, can anyone recommend anyone who knows their MX5's in this area, or maybe a little further West - Aylesbury/Oxford way?

I'm planning on doing the routine maintenance myself, but think it might be prudent to get a specialist to give it a major service and a once over just in case I miss something.
