Hi everyone,

I'm new to all of this, I have an issue i would like some help with, its thats ok..

I am looking to purchase a car, now being 21 this may seem like a strange choice, but the car is a;

1992 HONDA CR-X Delsol SiR 1.6 Vti DOHC VTEC Transtop, the car is Manual transmission and has currently done 56,000 miles..

Now i haven't any real idea what to expect in the form of problems and things to look for, apart from the transtop seals and rusting around the windscreen, so i would much appreciate any advice you have. It would be great if anyone has service details and problem parts information.

I would also like to roughly know what kind of price i should be looking to pay? As i have a vague idea myself.

Thanks for your time

Hi, try and go for the VTI DOHC one which is a lot more powerful (160BHP) and great fun around town, they rev up to 8500-9000k which is great fun although make sure you get one with a spoiler as they look cack without!

Hi Gazboy

Yes is the One with the Electronic Transtop, All the advice and help you or anyone can give will be gratefully taken...

Oh.. also with it being an import, is there anything else i need to check or do, before buying it... what about the fuel difference, as i think if my memory serves me correct they have a higher octane than we do??

iirc a mate bought his transtop del sol for about £3k a few years ago. I'd have thought it depends on what mods have been done to the car regards price though, I'd want it close to mint with a few things uprated to pay near that these days and not just the standard uk conversion mods.

Trans top I'd imagine could be a bit tempramental (sp?), lots of body coloured plastics on the car too, so check thoughly for fading, cracking etc. Nice enough cars, prefer my Mk2 though

Cheers Everyone,

Like i said, if there is anything that you think of, especially as i'm going to view it on saturday, that you think i need to check over or look for. If there is anything that is a "DANGER" when buying something like this, please do tell...

Hopefully, monday i'll be the proud owner...

Regards
