My mam has a 1990 G Reg MR2 with 68,0000 miles on the clock. Black, with sunroof (not a T Bar) and red leather seats. Looks very smart and is a totally original uk supplied, unmolested car, but she needs to sell it and I can only judge from similar models in Autotrader how much it's worth.

From what I've seen, I'd reckon it's worth about £2500, does that sound about right?

Service History, Condition and provinence are all.

If its as good as it sounds then a well written (and photographed) Ebay add may produce some very good results if the mileage is verifiable with a good service history and the condition of the car reflects this

It will not go for over 2k.

I sold an unmolested K plate fsh tbar aircon uk car last Oct for 3k and prices only drop, plus your mums is older.

Very good question, my reponse was based on it being a mk1.

If its a mk1 then in reply to Nichol@

Yours was a mk2 not a mk1.... big difference in terms of collectability.

Good mk1's as they become increasing rarer will appreciate as they are a sure fire classic, Mk2's will never enjoy this status as they are more common and were no where near as respected in their time.

As to what it is worth I reackon, anybodys guess to the right person on the right day if its a beauty

I'd say this was a MKII. Leather interior must be a re-trim as none of the sunroof (moonroof to be anal) models (MKI or MKII) came with leather interiors & most definately none were in red.

If the car has no spoiler it would be the "Coupe" (pre revision1) version which only had 122bhp. If it has the 3-piece spoiler it would have the change in engine giving it 156bhp. 2.5k would be asking a fair bit for it nonetheless unless it's totally imaculate with prooven history.

I would agree Mk2 due to the red leather. Either way, if in excellent condition then somewhere around £1.5K

As someone above has said, Mk2s on their way down, good Mk1s will be going up shortly.
