Looking at one of these at the weekend from a dealer. 2 Owners, P reg and just 23,000 miles. Any idea what a realistic asking price is as there's seems a little high?

Might be an idea to ask this on the owners club forum ( www.mx5ocforum.co.uk ) as theres a few Merlot owners on there. I'd say £6000-£7000. I payed £6000 last year for a 97 MK1 1.8is with 38,000 miles.

Mines a R Reg 1.8iS, next Feb I would expect to sell it for £4-4500 ish thats at 65k. I would go for £5k for the Merlot, but I may be totally wrong.

Cheers for the replies, its up for £5600 or thereabouts, so reckon I'll try and get them down to a nice round £5k if I decide to go for it.

I dont think they are far off, just looked on Autotrader and 5k looks about right. Every seller prices to be haggled
