Hi, not sure if this forum offers advice on car issues but I’ve just bought a 2018 Suzuki Vitara 1.0 booster jet. I’ve noticed a slight tinny sounding rattle sometimes upon acceleration between maybe 30-60mph. I wondered if anyone might have any ideas what it is? You wouldn’t hear it with the radio on but I’ve noticed it as soon as I drove it from the dealer to home. Any advice welcome.

You might get an answer here but one of the dedicated Suzuki forums might be better for you.

Out of interest, how do you find the 1.0 other than this noise.

A neighbour has an older diesel that he uses around his farm and loves it. I think it's done about 180K miles now and still looks smart and says it's needed nothing but service items like oil, filters and 5 year timing belt changes.

Not sure if a 1.0 would give that long life.

I’ve only just bought it, from what others say the engine is very reliable, I just found this noise annoying, apparently it may be a heat shield rattle?

It’s almost certainly a heat shield. Nothing to worry about and could probably be shimmed to stop the noise quite easily.
