Tinkering away.. tidying engine bay a bit & cleaned & oiled the filter. Just noticed the far end of the wide air pipe, that feeds air into the filter, isnt connected to anything, just loose. Presumably this should be connected ,somewher ?

I seem to recall K&N actually tell you to leave a certain pipe disconnected on Mk1 MR2s (a mate used to have one). Have a look on their site as they allow you to download the installation instruction for all their filters:

seems the far end of the pipe is lose, according to a PDF from the site that had some rough sketches in it. Seems daft as there's a socking great air intake on 1 side of the car.

Mine is wrong though as in the sketch it low on the underside catching a good draft; mines is just dangling low in the engine bay.
