I was looking at buying a GTR a couple of years ago. The price then on the lower end was £30k. I ended up going with a newer Jaguar F type but still would like to own a GTR at some point.

I had a look lately and it seems the 09 plate starting point is now £40k. What happened?

It's the same as the entire GTR / Skyline and JDM market for that matter. As there's now a big 'appreciation' for older GTR's the newer ones are following suit. I've had 6 Skyline GTR's and quite honestly see them as a £20k car max, and yet one has recently sold for > £1M..... the mind boggles.

I noticed this the other day, they've certainly crept up and for no reason I can see aside from the link to the appreciation of older 32s and 34s.

Agree with the above, they make more sense in the £20ks for me.

(Whilst browsing I noticed that Audi R8s haven't followed this trend and have been pretty consistent for the early V8 ones, which for the money is where I'd go).

Yeah they've all gone up. Almost exactly the same thoughts from me. Think it's partly the massive premiums the newer ones command creating more of a gap/market for used ones.

Plus the amount of work people do on them. Finding one that isn't stage 2, stage 4, got massive turbos 900bhp and an awful kit on it is nigh on impossible. I'm fine with the factory 475bhp and not having to declare 100 modifications thanks.

Well if anyone has a GTR for under 30k give me a message biggrin

Reminds me of a bug eye impreza STI i sold 8 years ago for £4.5k, had a look for them recently and they are all over £10k.
