Removing mini disk player from a Civic
Discussion
Hello
We just bought a Civic, but not the "R" :weeping:
It’s my girl friend's car and she wanted an automatic.
It's a great car. The only problem it has a Honda mini disk player, which is useless for us.
We would like to change it for a CD player, which can read MP3, or a dash mounted CD changer.
How difficult is it to remove an original mini disk player? And fit a new unit?
Could someone recommend a supplier/fitter near Oxford?
Cheers
Jack

If it is a current shape Civic it is a minor nightmare so hopefully somebody will be along to recommend a fitter.
I used to have the instructions but lost them.
Have a search on the forums at:

Basically most of the middle dash comes out.
You can get a plastic plate for a standard stereo to fill the hole correctly.
