After a few months of looking for a new car I have gone and bought something a bit different.

I have bought a 95 Skyline R33 GTS as a trackcar and plaything. I pick it up mid to late next week.

Currently has:
Apexi AVR-R Boost Controller
HKS Silent Hi-power Muffler
HKS Super Power Flow filter.
HKS Dumpvalve.
And an upgraded fuel pump.

Took it out last week to test and really enjoyed it.

I'm looking forward to picking it up, and will post pics asap.

How does it compare to the M3?

Surprisingly very similar, I didn’t take the Skyline much over 130 but it was still pulling really strong.

The noise is fantastic compared to how the M3 was, and I think it will be great fun for some track days.

I’m looking forward to messing with the Boost Controller and then maybe sticking an external wastegate on it too.

I know it’s not as tuneable as a GTR but it put a huge grin on my face when I heard it and drove it.

Anyway once it is in my hands I’ll get the pix sorted and posted.

Skyline, very nice. I nearly bought one as a second car but the insurance was a little too high to justify it.

Well after being messed around at the garage I was buying the Skyline from I have dropped out of the deal.

I have now bought one privately and hopefully will pick that up within the next couple of weeks. It’s from a guy on the GTR register website and is a seriously sorted car.

It’s a Syline GTS-T and the spec is as follows:

GTR Intercooler
Greddy TD06 20g Turbo
Trust External Wastegate with screamer pipe
N1 Oil Pump
N1 Water Pump
HKS CAMS 256x264 (Stage 2)
Tomei 87mm Pistons
Nimo Race Bearing
Lightened and Balanced Engine
Lighted Flywheel
Standard conrods (treated)
OSG Twin Plate Clutch
1.2mm Tomei Head Gasket
Greddy Inlet Manaifold
Apexi Power FC
Wizardsof NOS 25BHP Jets(11Ib Bottle)

It’s running 385 at the wheels and he has the printout to confirm this. It’s a cracking motor and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Couple of things on it that I will be changing straight away as it was a showcar.

Well I saw a GTS run a mid 10sec 1/4 mile 2 years ago at Santa Pod. So i'd say it's got plenty of potential!

I don't know much about skylines, but what is the difference between the GT-r and GTS? I was under the impression it was just the drivetrain, (rwd, not 4wd), and slighty less power.

I can't wait!!!

The noise of the exhaust and screamer pipe is excellent. I could not stop laughing.

The power it's putting down is amazing too. It just wants to go on and on.

I think I need to get myself to the next VMAX.

I'm thinking of going to Santa Pod on the 9th aswell.

I honestly cannot wait.

That, the ecu speed & missing a turbo is pretty much it,-in the performance dept, that is

Sounds like a good buy, enjoy.PICS are a must however!

The GTR is a 2.6 Twin Turbo, and the GTS-T is 2.5 single turbo. Visually GTR's have wider arches too.

As soon as I've picked it up and sorted a couple things visually on the car it will be posted up.

Awesome indeed!
Looking at the spec, there's been plenty o' internal strengthening going on.Very, VERY cool!
Only 25bhp shot of the Noz gas tho? You'll be able(if you want, that is) to up to around +90bhp jets, or higher(say ~150ish),with a progressive controller Then you'll really be steamin' .

We recently had a Scooby on the rollers with 25bhp jets and about 460bhp..

The jets added 120bhp to that.

That's a factor of x5 gain
How? direct port?

I had always thought that the size/flow thru of the jet & the delivery pressure were the main factors in adjusting power levels.

I will have to ask the guy who built the engine.

I had a chat with the guy that built the engine in the Skyline I'm buying and have to say I'm very pleased.

He is called Marc and runs The Garage and is a bit of a Skyline guru. He built the current fastest recorded Skyline GTS in the UK(600BHP+)He was basicly telling me it is not going to take much more to get this car upto the 500BHP mark.

I'm going to seriouly consider this, and might through some money into it.
