I desperatly need new tyres for my car, but may as well spend a little extra and get proper wheels for it to.
The only thing, is I dont know what technical info I need to know about "pcd" and all that kind of stuff.

Would a "spacer" sort out any problems I could face with wheels that arent going to fit straight on ?

I found some wheels on the net that I think will look absolutly awesome on my car - BUT the guy said my brake calipers are too big so they wont fit... WTF ?

Checked out another site which has GTO ready to fit wheels and they look cr4p, and a rip off.

Cant bloody win.

Hmm, so filing is one option...

The new wheel specs are:
pcd = 5-108
offset(ET)= 40

Info from another site says my wheels need to be:
PCD of 114
35mm offset

I havent a clue what that means, and have no idea if there's some kind of magic spacer that will save me.

Its so annoying, I could probably just about afford the wheels I want... really not happy, I think most alloys look bad.

Erm. If the PCD is wrong the wheel won't even bolt up onto your studs....

Sounds very close to the wheel specs of the 200sx. Have a look at SRB power for some wheels, they have some really nice Ultralites in stock at the moment.

Those will only change the offset and not the PCD. I have a full set of H&R's on my 200sx, be warned they are not cheap, you are looking at ~£200 depending on the size!

You would be better off putting that toward a set of rims that does fit.

These Are the Alloys I have. they have 215/40/18" toyo T1-S on with some good tread. One of the 4 is slightly damaged but there is a brand new never fitted spare. So there are 5 in total. I am looking for £1200ono they cost £400 each for the rims. It took a while to find the right offset for the GTO.

GTO and 200SX fitments are pretty much the same (ie pcd = 114.3mm and offset close). I keep meaning to swap one of my 200SX 18" wheels to the GTO to see if it will clear the caliper.

Nothing is really turning up that I like...

"Have a look at SRB power for some wheels, they have some really nice Ultralites in stock at the moment."
I checked their site, but its a mess, cant find alloys just other stuff.

This is the style im after:

[very much like the ones for sale but way too expensive for what my car is ]

Bit slim aren't they?

Not really. All wheel drive and all that. The Four runs 225's and they're wider than stock.

I believe the original Scooby P1 (widely praised for it's superb handling) ran 205 width tyres.

Sorry about that, I just assumed that SRB would have updated their site with the latest rims. I usually look at their thread on SXOC which is a bit more up to date. The closest Ultralite rim I could find are these:

Mmm not bad, but they are gonna be stupid money arent they ?

Im working with a budget... £500 - £800 [MAX MAX MAX], my car only cost me £3.5k - so why the hell would I want to spend silly money just on wheels...
Well tomorrow im picking up some standard 17's, that have fairly new tyres on them for cheap...so they will have to do for now. Altho im really on the hunt for something thats within my price range.

I tried my 200SX wheels on the GTO last night. Those GTO front calipers stick out a long way don't they

Looks like I might stick with the standard 17's too I might paint mine as the laquer is cracking up. Reckon they'd look good in metallic charcoal?
