Wheelchair adapted Elgrand problem
Discussion
Hello all
Anyway, I currently have an Elgrand Highway Star with the factory fitted adapted wheelchair - the type that not only swings out of the car, but also detaches to use as an actual wheelchair.
Some time ago, my husband took the Elgrand out and as he was lowering the wheelchair to the pavement managed to jam the wheel on the kerb.
This has caused a little pin to come out of one of the wheels, which has then stopped it from flicking back into place to neatly tuck away as it reverts back to being a 'regular' car seat. You can't leave it like that because it unless it is fully back in position it will beep constantly - even if it is far enough in to close the door. It is a safety precaution.
Now because of trying to get the thing back in to the extent of stopping the beeping, the wheel has actually snapped off.
Does anybody have any clue where I might take it to get it repaired properly? My beautiful mum passed away last November and I have barely used the Elgrand since, preferring to use the family car, as it's just too weird driving it without her being within chatting distance. I want to get the wheelchair fixed and sell the Elgrand on to somebody else who can make good use of it.
I am in Bolton, Greater Manchester, but will travel to see somebody who can sort it for me.
