After 10 months of ownership finally I have started on my plan of up grades :D

First new wheels, only an inch bigger, hopefully they will improve the handling, I'm going to run with Hankook Ventus tyres, we've got them on the Wedge and they performed very nicely round Spa, and at half the price of Bridgestones, I'm prepared to give them a run for my money.

Indeed, no sooner were the wheels on tonight, and I found myself saying 'I need bigger brakes now'

The 1.8 discs and calipers are an easy swap

I actually found due to the light weight of the 5 braided hoses, better pads and a master cylinder brace was enough to stop her in plenty of time...and that is with a touch more power than a standard 1.6 .

I see you already have the chin spoiler (which should have been included from factory but wasn't as they caught and snapped off when they were rolled on and off the transport ships....oh and the bean counters got involved) which looks ace.

If you like track days, I would go for a roll bar next .

She's not quite standard She's the orginal factory demonstrator, so is blue printed and came with the chin spolier.

Next on the list Nickel Finish Gaz Shocks.

I'll look into the brakes given that these went on the Wedge, I'm seriously considering a smaller version.

If you *must* have blinging brakes take a look at these...

The Willwood setup is awesome, but IMO overkill. I have doubled the horsepower on mine and with minor tweeks I can stop very quickly. You may also find you might have to change the wheels again...not sure of the clearences with those wheels.

You can get the brake kits from www.tracktec.co.uk. for about £700 per end.

Happy shopping .

Here's me thinking size doesn't matter!!!

seriously though - you may find that changing pad and disk material (plus braided lines) will give you more than enough stopping power in something as light at the MX.

I changed my FDs breaks from stock to Hawk HT-10 (race pad) on black diamond disks. Awesome stopping power.

Having cracked them at Vmax (and therefore thoroughly going off drilled disks) I've put the stock disks back on with the hawk pads and the difference is huge. I was suprised how much it's about the combination of pad and disk and not just about the pad.

You'd probably only need a big upgrade if you're going to be doing a lot of track work and migh need a complete calliper replacement as I assume the MX's disks aren't vented...
