All I can say is... You're a lucky bastard, and I hate you even more now! Do you think he would notice if you did a sly little swap between his, and your car?

Oooh.. wiggly sticks! They are cool. I also have one of those 'levers' in the A4. The tiptronic is OK, but sooo damned slow! Gotta get a tip-chip which brings changes down from an eternal 1.0 seconds, down to 0.2 seconds!

Regular auto change is fine, its the tiptronic (the manula one, like a sequential thing..up for up, down, for down) that is soooo slow.

Yours is making what? 320 odd bhp? Is that at the rear wheel? If so, it must be considerably faster than my Evo. What does it quarter mile?

Was the 450bhp RWHP? That's approaching bike performance.

I really like Supras. Such a classic shape and, really, a modern legend. How many other 10 year old cars still demand such respect? Only a handful like Skylines etc.

GB,how do you find your supe's weight & handling on 'B' type twisties/poorish surfaces?
Should have plenty of grip,I was more interested in its ability to switch direction quicko & reaction to 'unbalancing/upsetting' driver inputs.
More in comparison to the 'liner than an Evo really.('B' twisties being an Evo's natural habitat)

Both (325 & 450) at the fly. The quarter mile time (13.0 or there abouts) is roughly the same as your EVO I think, but you'd kill me to 60, but I'd fancy my chances in a 40-120mph roll-on.
Yep. Gear selection would be essential for the Evo.

A Supra would need 550rwhp to be as quick as the RSV I think.
My R1 is supposed to have 150ish bhp at the rear wheel (180bhp at the fly, with ram air effect. 172 without). It, plus me, only weighs 250kg so that is 600bhp/ton. I think it's only the likes of Ultimas that pack that sort of punch.

As an aside, I've only had the R1 a short while and its performance is staggering. I joined an A road and gave it the berries and the front wanted to lift off the ground on the throttle in third! I wasn't even on full throttle.

My mates 450bhp 300zx is pretty nippy, although these cars and also the supra are a bit heavy. A lighter car with power in the 300's would be as quick. Personally I find lower mass and lower fuel bills to be more attractive.

There are heaps of rice rockets out here in Sydney - they seem to be the performance cars of choice for Aussies!
The thing I love about the Supes is that while they do have the right image and have the power to match, they can still look like just another old Jap performance car and still shock much more expensive machinery from the line!

Awesome

I must admit all that power / torque and rear wheel drive makes me feel a bit of a scardey cat on our damp roads. I've had a few moments in the past and now prefer the safety / ability of 4WD. Take it easy!

Sounds fun Gaz, not been in a stupidly quick car yet (320rwhp in a rex being the most extreme) but a mate's just had a new turbo on his an dit dyno'd @ 517 rwhp at 1.4 bar!!! Going to be hitching a lift in that asap - it's also about 1050kg having had all the gubbins stripped out.

Hoping mine willl be ready for Trax this year and should be putting out about 330-350rwhp which should be fun. We might even muster > 10 cars for the FDUK session this year!!

A friend with an R34 GTR has recently come back from Abbey with 537bhp.He is a complete loon, frankly surprised he's still alive! Anyhow he's worse now,& the Gayside Blue '34 is neck snappingly manic.
The '34's control systems make fast driving almost too easy(even as standard),really could get one into heaps of trouble.
