Evening people
My dads got an Elgrand thats got a starting problem which only seems to happen in the winter months
Can't seem to start it without a jump pack when outside temperatures drop, just cranks over n over. It has a new fuel relay on it and a brand new set of glowplugs too. Tried putting scanner on it after buying a 14 pin adapter but don't think its OBD2 as cannot communicate with the tool. Have done a little bit of googling to find JOBD is a thing. Will this be what is on the ECM with it being a jap import??
Nissan Elgrand 1997 E50 3.2 (QD32ETi)
Any help really appreciated

Firstly neither the Elgrand or that particular engine was ever imported or fitted to anything officially sold in the UK or IIRC Europe.
At this point in time Nissan Dealers in the UK used the first generation Consult diag kit. I very much doubt that had any JDM info on it so even if you can find one it probably wouldn`t help.
I had a JDM 300ZX of a similar vintage and there was a way of putting the ECU into service or diag mode which would then report DTC codes by flashing warning lights in a sequence of short/long flashes that were unique to each DTC.
Another possible way is to get the relevant Consult software loaded onto a laptop, an interface and a data cable. Something like this MIGHT work: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274867027216?hash=item3...
First thing I would check (or maybe just take a dip and fit a new one) would be the ECT sensor (and it`s wiring connector) which should be screwed into the thermostat housing. This is said item https://www.partsinmotion.co.uk/car-parts/oem/2263... This reports coolant temp to the ECU.
Sensor is 22630 in this pic:
Failing that you need to find a JDM specialist versed in this age of vehicle.
