Lots of copy cat options: Including....https://m.made-in-china.com/product/Six-spokes-alloy-wheel-aftermarket-wheel-818387785.html

Probably don't buy those though. biggrin

As said, probably the most popular Jap wheel going. Loads of copies, but non will be forged like these, and as such, weigh a ton in comparison.

Very nice wheels but as you say, spendy!

Disappointed it took as long as nine minutes for someone to answer that wink

If you don't want to splash out on new ones, I'd say in order of preference
1) look for a secondhand set, it's not like wheels will wear out
2) Rota Grid is a fairly well-known, widely used cheaper cast copy https://www.rotawheelsuk.com/rota-wheels/grid-15-7...
3) become an influencer and ask Volk to send you a free set

Point three will never happen laugh
VOLk can’t produce wheels quick enough for the people that are willing to splash out the £k’s to buy them. Lead times are mental on a set.

They must be a theft target as well if people know how much they are?!

They’re very similar looking to the Speedline 2108.

SpeedHunters never seems to be without a brand new set of Volk wheels being unboxed wink But no that wasn't a serious suggestion.

I see your point, driving around with a few grand in (potentially) easily detached parts on the outside of your car. However, I've never heard of it happening.

Firstly they're rare; you don't see many cars driving around on wheels like this, and of those that you do, likely a majority are imitations. Most cars with genuine Volks on probably come out rarely for shows and trackdays.
Secondly even if your criminal got lucky enough to spot a car with genuine TE37s on, because of the details of size, PCD, centre bore, width and offset then they'll probably only fit other cars of the same model. So they're not that easy to sell, best place would probably be the owners forum for that car. Where the original owner will see the ad...

At least when I had TE37s on my 180SX I didn't have any trouble (Paid £600 for a secondhand set)

I take the view that with upwards of £1k wheels + tyres spending another few quid on matching locking wheel nuts is a nice finishing touch.

I do like the TE37 but there are enough cars with them on already, it's a good design & well made product so it makes sense. However there many many more cars with Rota Grids, JR3s which is a bit of a shame really. It's gotten to a strange stage though now that a set of Rotas is close to £1k and a 20 year old set of TE37s cost the same. Difference is the Rotas are barely £500 once they've had a bit of use.

There are many other variations of a 6 spoke available not just from Volk Rays if that is the style you want to go for. Someone has already mentioned that Speedline do a tasty 6 spoke wheel to.

As said above, I had Rota Grids on my MX5, back when Rota wheels weren't that expensive!

I went second hand from Japan for my RAYS', bought from crooober (ridiculous name site laugh) and then shipped with Jesse Streeter. I even saved on picking up a second hand set in the UK (they were still £k's).

These kind of wheels are the male equivalent of diamond rings - round, shiny, brand-sensitive and unreasonably expensive smile

Very good point.
Me an my bro have upwards of 20 sets of wheels that have come from Japan , Rays, Advans, BBS , there are some good buys. One thing that strikes me as almost odd is how overly critical Japanese people are, wheels described as junk that have barely needed an hour's cleaning to look 9/10 perfect ..its wonderful.

Where would one look to obtain said cheap wheels? My only source is eBay and there's some grim stuff on there if not new.

Best prices are generally found at rimstyle (where I buy most of my wheels as well)

Driftworks is a huge Rota seller and rarerims are the official UK distributor

If you want proper Rays TE37's then Torque GT or Tegiwa

Totally agree with this, my wheels were rated 2/5 stars on crooober - they've arrived and they are spotless like someone's just refurbed them. It's the same with the cars, Skyline was grade 4 but a list of scratches and dents on almost every panel - not a blemish on any part of it and the Crown grade 3.5 and only one scratch on the bonnet.
