10th Gen Civic mpg/ reliability 1.0 & 1.5 Turbos
Discussion
Afternoon,
I am looking at buying a 10th Gen civic as to commute 15/20k PA in for work.
Has anyone had a go in either the 1.0 or 1.5 and can they comment on motorway performance (ie underpowered/ over worked) and real lift MPG please?
Also do the 10th gen civic have an reliability issues and is there anything that should be avoided?

You'll want the 1.5 for that - It'll get better MPG than the 1.0 according to many owners, and I'd say (From a quick test drive) that power is adequate enough.
The 1.0 Should probably be avoided as it's the first Honda engine in yonks to use a timing belt, which requires apparently quite expensive servicing - I've yet to see any real prices on the owners gorups, but some report as much as £1000 from Honda(!!!!)
As for reliability, Perfectly fine really - There's a few niggles that people like to make mountains of, such as the front parking sensors that will go off when stationary in the rain - There's a fixed grille that is fitted under warranty. Other than that, There's some door rubbers that can come up a little and look rough (Once again, replaced under warranty)
Haven't heard of any real mechanical issues with them. (1 or 1.5)
