Found some old photos from the mid 90's of a run we did in Australia (Melbourne) with our Starion and Cordia Turbos.

Not sure you got the Cordia Turbo here in the UK though.

I guess you could say the whole Mitsubishi Evo thing wouldn't have happened without these turbo test beds...

We used to abuse these things and Jesus they knew how to make a strong engine ..Good times!!

I turned down an 80k mile Lancer turbo for £850 in 2002. If I knew then what I know now...

We did have the Cordia turbo in the UK, but it was never a very good seller. Starions were popular, there's a few left but I've not seen one anywhere for a few years (slim body version).

I've got a Lancer turbo (well, 2 actually) one I've had since 1991 used for spares and my current one since 1999 which is in the garage but fully MOT'd etc. Was an original white / orange as well so when I get the bodywork done it'll be sprayed up back to as it came from the Showroom. One of 7 licensed and on the road according to the web.

Ran (GB), Colt Turbo followed by two Galant turbos as i couldnt afford my father in laws widebody Starion 2.6 during the 1990's . Always wanted the Lancer 2000 Turbo just because it read backwards in the rear mirror on the front spoiler. Great cars and great days.

As Texaxile says, we definitely got the Cordia Turbo here and there’s still the odd one on the road

^^^ OK that's interesting but what you got here was different to the Cordia Turbo in Oz.

Ours was designated GSR and had a 1.8 turbo. Colt was a smaller car for us.

It had a rubberised rear spoiler too.

The Colt in Oz looked like this. Looking back at it again here there's a bit of Pug 205 to that rear quarter..

We got the 1.8 turbo version in 85 here in UK
Prior to that it was a 1.6 Turbo ( as was the saloon Tredia )

We got something similar to that here but called the Colt Mirage

They did a 1.4 Turbo version for a short while around 83
