Subaru Justy, had one? Info plz.
Discussion
The Subaru Justy awd,little hatch thing,quite interested in a 'W' plate,looks tidy enough & having 4wd in the local,greasy country lanes might make for some fun.Not expecting performance its just a bit different from the average *euro hatch*.
I'd be interested to hear any useful info, So anyone/mates had one, or had any experience of them?
Thanks
Matt.

Yes, I had one. Or rather, my mum did and I borrowed it for a few months when I wrote my Celica off in 1996.
* Very noisy above 50mph and starting to run out of puff too.
* Massive understeer when pushing on, even with 4WD engaged. However, this could have been down to tyre choice or tyre pressure. I never got round to investigating.
* Transmission prone to lock-up at manoeuvering speeds - remember to disengage 4WD via nifty James Bond style button on the top of the gearlever.
* Body control pretty good - not too much roll.
* Fuel economy acceptable - I averaged 37.8 mpg over 2,400 miles.
All-in-all not a bad car, but the noise above 50mph and the understeer could both be showstoppers depending on your requirements for the car.
Edit: I should point out this was a 1990 H-plate model with way-below-average mileage that had been driven mostly by my mum. Later models may have behaved differently.

My dealer has one as a loan car (I usually get Imprezas, but this last time I got the Justy). It was a 1.2 something or other. Plenty of poke for a diddy car (compare with a Micra/Corsa, not a TVR!). This one has 227,000 miles on the clock (R Reg'd) and the suspension was a bit soft, but it was pretty quiet at 90 on the motorway. No odd clonks or rattles either. I was impressed.
