thought I'd chuck a picture up in the forum to see what people's impressions are of the new Note. I have to say I think it looks really good, E-power hybrid so no range anxiety and approx 111mpg. Around 120 hp. Should go alright as well. An autech version is available but no plans for sale in the uk as of yet.

I drove the current e-Power hybrid Note in Japan, and like it - it's a good powertrain, and could have been great with a few tweaks.

I could believe it could do 111mpg in a low-speed stop-start Japanese test cycle, as the hybrid powertrain should be pretty well suited to that. It won't do that in real-world use of course, but should still be pretty good.

I strongly dislike the looks in that picture. They seem to have started from the current boxy shape and tried to make it sportier, and just ended up with something that's neither one thing nor another and looks very ungainly. Then the surfacing looks really flat and cheap, the detailing is cheap too, wheelarches are clumsy and unconvincing. The whole thing screams 'can't afford anything better' to me. The e-Power tech deserves a more convincing, attractive package - Nissan is struggling and yet they're squandering the strengths they do have.
