Afternoon all

On my wiper stalk it has a setting for auto which I assume means the car has rain sensing wipers, however after I chuck a bucket of water on windscreen they don't appear to do anything, the car is covered under a Lexus extended warranty but the dealers I spoke to (in London) would want £180 to diagnose - I understand it would be refunded if it's claimable by the dealer but does anyone know of any Lexus dealers in South East England that don't have a diagnostic fee?

Even though they have auto capability you quite often have to turn it on each time you start the car.

Certainly the case with an old beemer I had. This was via a button on the end of the wiper controls.

The wipers on our Evoque have an auto function, but the wipers themselves aren't rain sensing, the sensor is located at the top middle of the windscreen (behind the mirror) and that is what triggers the auto wipers to work. Have you tried the setting while driving in the rain?.

Yup tried dropping the stalk to auto then pouring water over the sensor, in the end it turns out the jellypad was missing from the car -go figure
