Mazda6 OBD Scanner?

My cheapie diagnostic tool doesn't work on the wife's Mazda 6 (59 reg). Any pointers for a compatible scanner, I'm loathe to fork out for a five minute garage scan?

No idea, Ive got a Snap On reader and it does my 6 diesel (59 plate) fine, maybe a garage or friend with one is the best plan.

If still required, Forscan compatible Elm.
I have a USB one for my 2008 Mazda 6 connected to Laptop using the Forscan App (free)
Goes a lot deeper than usual OBD2.
Had to get a right angled extension cable to be able to use it while driving.

The Elm itself can be used on other Cars but needs generic OBD2 Software
