I have a '98 Honda Civic which has occaisionally, in it's time with me, made some clicking sounds when I get in the car (the door locks going on and off). About six months ago the remote locking stopped working (I bought a new key fob at about £80 from Honda) which didn't work as it's 'possibly' the remote sensor in the car.

No problem, I thought, I can live without it. Found out last night that now the central locking has stopped working altogether, so it looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and book it in with honda.

Anyone else experienced anything like this and/or can give me an indication of cost? (Honda are going strong in the vague olympics at the moment!)

Get an aftermarket jobbie. Bet it'd be cheaper too than a main dealer. (£300 for a complete install, and they'll most likely sort out the central locking as it's part of the system.) Toad are good. Clifford are rubbish - loads of features but goes off at random times to piss you and your neighbours off. When it goes off all the time nobody takes notice of your car

I guess that depends on how well installed and setup it is. Not had any problems with mine.

I guess it's the old TVR reliability arguement in the making here
