The chargecooler set up on those are very efficient unless you're planning on 450hp upwards. I certainly wouldnt swap out the chargecooler for a universal eBay front mount intercooler anyway. Get the cat taken out with a downpipe, get some ECU or piggyback ECU isnatlled and mapped to sort the fuelling out and run 17/18psi on the stock turbo. Someone like Owen Developments can do a hybridised CT20 turbo in you want more power later on.

Thanks for the info , it’s a mishimoto fmic but I’m in 2 minds if I’m honest , I wouldn’t be pushing past 350/380 mark in this . I’ve got a fair bit of experience with the 3sgte . Just wen it’s installed in an mr2 : laugh: I run a apexi and power commander would this be the best option on the gt4 I presume ? Charge cooled running circa 550bhp
I had one for four years and sold it last year, to a chap that flew over from Ireland! Super rare and unappreciated so you can get a great bit of kit for a relatively low cost.
From what I understand if you go past 330bhp you really want to forge it for reliability. Also have you checked the front superstruts? If they haven't been done and you are over 80k miles on the originals you might want to factor in that cost (around £1k).
Obvious other work is replacement exhaust blitz nur spec r exhaust is the usual route and swap out the cat. Mine was running about 290bhp with just the cat out and exhaust and no boost meddling so it goes up to a decent level with minimal work.
Also get some half decent tyres, mine came with some crap Event tyres or something like that, swapped them out for Vredesteins and transformed the car.

Nice, definitely check the front super struts because if they go you will get a tonne of knocking and other problems and by all accounts it’s a long job to replace.
Can’t be worse than back to back rod bearing replacements on my m6/5 over 2 weekends ...
Will check the super struts as I’m installing bc coilovers as my second job . Thanks for the advice . Is it me or does the jap chat section seem a bit quiet ?

Having been to a few PH meets they seem quite over run with German cars - also the Jap section is pretty slim they don't go down the route of specific marques so I find most owners of Jap cars stay away from here and frequent forums more suited. There is more chatter on the 350z-uk forum alone than on the entire Jap section here for example
Beemer sounds a nightmare, you should be able to have the old bits off and new stuff on in a day http://www.tuningdevelopments.uk/product_info.php?... but its not cheap!
Presume you have the original charge cooler on? Do keep an eye on the levels, if that goes down thats end of story for the engine. A nice little cheat is to pop the cap off the cc and pull on the throttle cable you will see in the engine bay to rev the car, the fluid in the cooler will swirl and the level will drop and you can top it whilst the car is running
