I'm looking at upgrading from my FN2 type r in the future, I'm looking at a JDM STI hatch,

Has anyone got any experience with these ? Iv'e always had HONDA'S but I'm unsure about Subrau's i know they have a couple of engine problems but if i'm correct the JDM doesn't suffer with as many.

any help ?

I have also been looking at EVO x

Yes, the JDM 2.0 is the better engine and will hold value better too.

Lot more expensive to buy but...

2.5 owners will try and convince you they’re ok but just have a read of the 2.5 fail sticky on SN. It’s when people say about the rebuild sorting it then the engine fails again.

"The Evo X isn't a real evo"

The impreza hatches look great though

Absolutely. Been around these cars for 17 years and I just would not touch a 2.5. It's not just the fact that they have issues, it's the fact that you lose sleep at night because you're expecting those issues to appear at some point.

I'd have a JDM hatch in a flash as my daily if they were cheaper. For now I have a JDM Forester with the EJ205 - because the Forester STI has that 2.5.

A JDM hatch with a re-map is a very good car.
