Finding the chassis number on a Mitsubishi Lancer.
Discussion
Looking for a bit of advice.
We've got some friends who live abroad in the Caribbean and they have a faulty ABS sensor on a Lancer. I'm trying to track one down for them and have asked them for them chassis number to make sure it's the correct one. They've sent me some numbers from various places on the car but they don't seem to be recognised in the Mitsy chassis number decoder I've been using.
The Lancer is not the current shape and is like the old Evo 6/7/8 shape. I've suggested a few places where it might be and they seem at a loss to find it.
Any ideas?

Have a look on the bulkhead , on the A170 series such as mine, it was stamped in the upper middle of the bulkhead about 3 inches down from where the panel meets the slam panel area (there’s a welded seam where the panels meet).
On the later models (between A170 and the mid 90’s shape) I’m not sure but very possibly in or around the same area, as Mitsubishi are nothing if not habitual.
