So I have my car MOT and Service done at Lexus. I do around 4k miles a year, and the car was last Serviced at 70k miles in January 2019, They said that both the Front and Rear Brake Pads needed to be changed as they were on 30%. The car currently has 74k on it and is due to have an MOT in January 2020 which its booked in for.

So my question is, would you say it is worth changing the pads, or do you think I leave it for a while longer?

So there was a third of their life left when last checked

I suppose it depends on the type of driving you've been doing and how hard you are on brakes.

I suspect they'll be fine for a while yet- possibly an advisory at MOT time.

Ive done a couple of motorway trips for jobs, but mostly town driving. I will just get them changed I think for peace of mind, as the MOT history for the past 11 years has had no advisories.
