Looking at buying a 370Z roadster/convertible.

Very few for sale, none in the Surrey area as far as I can see.

They seem to be a bit of a rarity although they do take a lot of boxes for me.

Does anyone know of a decent one going. I'm not prepared to travel too far for personal reasons and wondered if there were any in reasonable striking distance of Dorking, Surrey.

Hopefully looking for one with sub 60,000 miles on the clock and manual.

Another gripe is that the majority of them are black! What ever happened to bright, (ish) coloured sports cars?

I wanted to view a 120.k mile 370z roadster in red earlier this year. It was only £9k with FSH. It looked absolutely epic!
It sold before I could view it so I went to look at the next cheapest, in black. I don’t like black cars to begin with but it just didn’t do it for me.
Sorry, not much help with your plight but I feel your pain! “Interesting” colour 370z roadsters are rare...

The cars that are available, mainly in black don’t seem to be moving anyhow so the markets all a bit up in the air at the moment.

Wanna buy a 400 BHP TVR?

Just to note, some of the black 370z are Rose Black which when seen in the metal are a really nice colour, have a rose fleck in them and come up under the sun really well.

I second this and mine is Rose Black and it does look lovely in the sun for sure(a bit purple/aubergine like).

I assume you've come from a cerb?

How does the 370Z compare?

Yes. The biggest difference is the weight(pretty heavy at around 1550kg) and I always classed my cerb as a GT(a very light one!) so there are similarities in that regard. My 370Z has an upgraded intake and exhaust(essential for me because they are very quiet as standard).

The clutch/gearbox are quite meaty so I really like that and it reminds me a fair bit of the TVR, and the synchro rev matching is really addictive in the 370Z and it won't fail to raise a big smile!

It is early days with the car(had it 3 months) and it is only used occasionally but I absolutely love it to bits. It is nice to have a car with old school traits again(manual/rwd/lsd/hydraulic steering/n/a engine) so it really ticks the boxes for me.

If you approach the car as a GT rather than a sports car then you won't be disappointed, if you look at it as a sports car then you will. I like that they are pretty well specced(cruise/nav/heated and cooled seats etc) too.

It comes highly recommended from me! thumbup I also used to have a Z4M Roadster and I much prefer the 370Z(it has a far better ride/gearbox/chassis for me).

Thanks for that. All good to know.

I have a 5.5l chim that I use for the odd TD, sprint and occasional Sunday use but it is a bit hardcore!

Looking for a bit of comfort, (by comparison!) and it seems that the z should be good.

Still haven't tried one as there isn't anything decent for sale near me. Just hoping that I fit OK, am 6ft 2" so a little wary.

If anyone has a convertible fairly near to me and wouldn't mind a bit of show and tell, I would very much appreciate it.

No worries. smile

I bet your chim is epic fun! cool

The ride is pretty good and I drove 200(100 each way) miles in mine on Sunday without complaint(apart from the exhaust being a bit too loud on a long run!).

I think that you should fit ok, I'm only 5'8" but my mate was in with me on Sunday and he is 6'5" and even with the roof up his head wasn't touching the roof.

Your man above's 370Z Roadster is much the same as the one I used to have (and still miss!) - colour was Black Rose, which wasn't black at all, more deep aubergine/purple - really very nice. Gratuitous pic below, you can see how 'un-black' it really is. It was quite a popular colour for the Roadster, I'm guessing a number you've been looking at are actually this colour...
