Lexus nx300 issue from new
Discussion
Got my NX300 from new in November which i love, poor fuel consumption aside, but some of the interior switches have never lit up. Most of the ones on the central console, window switches etc.
Now this isn't a major issue so i left it till first service thinking it would be just a fuse. Not so and it was booked in this week at my local lexus dealer. Day 1. Went to collect. 40 mile trip only to get there and its in pieces and they cannot find the fault. So can i keep the courtesy car (nice UX) another day. Trail back 40 miles.
Day 2 still not found the fault.
Day 3. Go to collect and they still haven't found the fault despite going through wiring diagrams and checking the wiring looms. Sorry sir. You can have the car back but we haven’t fixed it and can we book it in again for a week.
Now I know its only a minor issue but not one I was expecting and now 3 days and the fault cannot be traced and they want it again for up to a week. The dealers are great and polite but it will have been many hours wasted and at least 12 journeys of 40 miles by the time its hopefully fixed.
Anyone with a Lexus experienced a similar issue and am I just being a bit picky by moaning :-).

You went to pick the car up 3 times without checking if they'd finished working on it ?
Good point, I’ve had a few issues with my BMW and at one point, I had a loan car for 3 weeks until they managed to get approval to replace my corroded alloys. They shouldn’t make you travel that way and not telling you your car isn’t fixed. Strange as Lexus is always in the top 5 of the customer surveys.

Fair point however the first time they said it would be ready at 3:30. Got there at 3:20 and they had just tried to ring me. Didn't go back on day 2. Today I needed my car back for the weekend otherwise they wanted to keep it and leave me with the courtesy. (Needed a bigger car for the weekend away). Funnily enough their customer service called today if I was happy with the service I received when I took my car in on Wednesday.
I will still need to waste another 4 hours and another 160 miles to take it back in again, go to work then collect.

My last visit to Lexus was a bit off as well. The UX they gave was dirty and had someone's luggage in the boot. Also, no offer of a Lexus coffee.... my primary reason for spending £600 for what is basically an oil change and some looking.
:/ Sounds like they loaned you a customer car!?Gassing Station | Japanese Chat | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
