So last year I blew the head, cos the water pump failed. A long story short, new exhaust manifold, heads skimmed, valves reseated, new head gasket, new pump, timing belts and pulleys, new spark plugs and new coil packs later . . .

Still after all this the car is still misfiring on no.5 ?

I took the fuel rail off and the injectors seen good but weren't tested, because I'm planning to upgrade em to 740cc, but it has stock air filter and maf.

Any suggestions would be nice, I've yet to look at the fuses, and don't know how to test the relays tbh.

It has spark fuel and air so i'm at a loss . . .

Help very much appreciated for my old bird, Stagea RS4 Series 1 . . .

I’d try another set of coils first then get some extra earth straps on there if that fails. Does the rb25 have an igniter?

No not this early model. Where are the earth straps?

If it has spark and fuel then check compression . You can swap coils and injectors from cylinder to cylinder and see if fault moves

Earthing kit is a waste of time

A misfire on one cylinder is hardly blowing an engine up.
Spark plug, coilpack, coilpack wiring loom, injector, all need more than a visual inspection

Yes blowing the head gasket, melting the manifold and warping the head isn't an explosion. But then I should have said "i have heat stress damaged rb25 det"

I'm sorry your expectation of exploding cars isn't a reality.

Thanks also for your help aka_kerrly. Like I said there have been new parts fitted.

Checking it's no. 5 and 6 missing.

Yes your right liner33 - completely forgot about compression. What tool would you recommend, or is it better to go to a garage? Tha is on advance

A standard compression tester should work but as to whether a garage needs to be consulted depends on your ability . If you did the work to repair it then I'm sure you can do a compression check

Well everything except the skimming and grinding. Thankyou I'll have a look.

If it is compression would that indicate warped/damage pistols, or sleeves?

Pistons most likely
