So - what happens when your wife puts VPower Diesel into your remapped and tweaked 107bhp/ltr Toyota GT86 and then you drive it down the road until you get misfires and a rough running engine?

Well. After the initial incredulous howling rage passes you take it back to the tuning company rather than get the insurance vultures involved or the main dealers. Luckily for me those tuners were the excellent chaps at Fensport who agreed to fit my car in despite there being an eight week waiting list for the workshop and they would tinker with it as and when the odd gap occurred.

I’m pleased to say that they have sorted the car, there is no damage, they have replaced spark plugs, filters etc and run it for a 100 miles hooked up to the laptop to analyse how it is performing and it’s back to running perfectly. For part, petrol and and labour I’m looking at less than £500 and I’ve been kept informed and treated very well throughout.

Forums are full of people griping when garages foul up or let you down. I think it’s important to make sure that when good honest mechanicing Is encountered it is noted and shared.

Thank you Fensport - your good reputation is certainly well deserved.

I've dealt with Fensport in the past when we had an IS-F and thought they were decent.

I will be taking my 86 there for a remap this summer. Good outfit, only heard good things about them.

Fensport we’re responsible for bits of my old ST205.
They always knew their stuff, and on the rare occasion something went wrong they put it right as fast as possible.

my wife wrong filled her diesel xtrail with petrol last year. Like you I lost my shizzle for a bit then called wrong fuel doctor who came around drained the fuel and got the car going again. From phone call to fix approx 2 hours, cost? £140 plus the loss of petrol. to put Fennsports brilliance into perspective....

Only seen this now. In holland I get this for less than 200 euros, fensport not a good price again, too much. They need too much money like my turbo kit and tom hudson.

Did those services run the car for 100 miles with a diagnostic laptop plugged in and confirmed all the parameters of four different ECU maps on the car plus change filters and plugs? No. Was your Xtrail running at 107bhp/ltr on 99 octane fuel? No.
