We got one as a second car new on a ‘15’. Fully loaded and 100% reliable, but we traded it at 2 yrs as we moved and my partner was making longer journeys and it just didn’t have any oomph.

Really flexible space for kiddies and Ikea!

Great dealer support too ... I’d get another if they’d only up the bhp.

Hi

We have owned a Nissan Note for 6 years (bought at 3 years old, so getting on a bit now). It is a great, if uninspiring car. We have a 1.5DCi Tekna - so plenty of kit. It will do 63mpg all day, £30 road tax, ferries kids around, been faultlessly reliable, flexible interior space, gadgets, generally seems robust.for the stuff we put it through.

Nissan dealership are all right, but just do the basics - I would expect a little more from a main dealer in terms of service. (we bought the car from them and have it serviced there still).

Summary - unremarkable, cheap, family transport.

The Note has been phased out by Nissan now as the lardier new Micra covers it. It's an extremely popular Motability car. Then generation before with the petrol 1.6 was a supremely comfortable family car.

Mrs Scrump has the earlier shape Note, a 1.6 petrol automatic. Had it for 10 years now and it has been remarkably reliable.

Hi MrPetrolHead
I Own the 1.5Deuce E12, it's not the best. Build quality is questionable and I've already had the intake connected to the aribox fail on clips, and the radio button crack. (Iv'e been told you cant replace it, yet its a common) And the paint is really thin and poor, I've had bird poo left on my car for under a week and it wrecked my paint. Even my 20 year old Mr2 didn't have the issue of paint peeling after a longer period. (Although this could be a quality control issue) Also the handle to help you get the back seats are in a really poor place and had peoples head bump on it.

I have driven the 1.2 supercharged it wasnt that good. If you have the 1.2L without the supercharger you will stuggle. You have the Last of the E12 nissan notes and its quite a bit different to mike9009 car as his is the older E11.

The handling is quite poor on E12s, Its not as bad as some other cars but its by no means good. Same for brakes, They are ok but really dont give you confidence. I now call my car marvin as it reminds me of hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, It will only work when it has to and when it dose, its in a really depressing Way. Even my colleague has the 1.2L auto he said its very good on the pratical side (back door open really wide) but it really isn't that good on handling.

My advice would be if you can get a refund is to make sure you really want this car. This is somthing you will be using daily and a small test drive is a bad idea. Make sure you test it on hills and see how it copes, Same for high speeds if needed as it sounds like you will have it loaded so you want to know what its like lite. If not oh well,Its not going to be so bad that you will need to have someone push it up hills laugh and handling shouldnt be to bad if you are doing deliverys. Good luck and apologies for poor grammar and spellings.

My wife has a 2010 E11 1.6 petrol (HR16DE) automatic. It's actually her second E11, having written the first off in an accident. She's had this one for about three years and it's had no issues at all, and nor did she have any trouble from the first either. It serves us well as a small family car.

I had an 2014 E12 1.5 diesel (K9K) manual for a year from new, as a company car. I didn't like it as much as the E11, although the fuel consumption was very good (70mpg possible on A roads if driving gently).

I have driven the E12 with the 1.2 petrol engine (HR12DE). I agree with the comment above that it is particularly gutless and I wouldn't want to live with it for anything other than 100% town driving.

When we do have to replace the E11, I've no idea what we'd go for. There doesn't seem to be anything else on the market that does what the E11 does.
