Hi Folks

About to come into some spare cash. Has anyone had the revised suspension geometry upgrade from ABP (Nantwich)? If so, is it any good?

Might have enough spare to treat myself to a new exhaust, is it worth it (already got a K&N)? Quite like a nice exhaust note.

Thanks in advance

bonjour

I've not heard anything bad about ABP's set up, and if i decide to keep mine another year, i'll probably get it done myself (it's only a 1/2 hour or so drive for me)
The only thing to consider is tyre wear on your existing settings, some of the CTr owners on the civictype-r.co. fourums had reported rear tyre wear due to an issue on the rear lower arms which meant ABP couldn't get the required settings.

I have a blitz induction on mine and the exhaust was a custom made job.
it depends what your after really, true Jap parts cost a fortune and tend to be on the noisey side

Friends of mine have systems from Spoon and buddy club, the spoon N1 is very noisey and would pi$$ me off on a decent journey, the spec III buddy club is a little quieter and can be fitted with a sub silencer at the expense of any performance gains.

Skunk 2 racing do a nice system, but again it's not cheap and has suffered with quality issues whereby the baffles have come loose and the name plaques have come off...it's an imported system so be aware of shipping and return postage costs.

ABP do a magnex/ABP system which sounds nice and does free up a couple of ponies.

hope it helps

Mate of mine had the ABP setup on his car a few weeks ago, has nothing but praise for it. Says it's well worth the cost

Thanks folks

I'll be going to ABP anyway for the geometry upgrade so while I'm there I'll ask them to fit their Magnex single box job

Met a bloke the other week who'd had the cat bypass pipe put on but for the sake of 4bhp I don't think I can be arsed with putting the cat back on for MOTs

The geometry set up sounds like the best value mod available (just hope it works on mine Nighthawk). I'd like to think that when they've finished with it I'll have a sweet handling Civic as this is the only downside at the mo

Cheers

I know what you mean m8, the handling on my Nighthawk black CTR can be a bid odd sometimes.

the steering sensation can be like steering with a plank sometimes and the EPS is easy to catch out with rapid changes of direction.

Tyres make a huge difference too, the standard potenza's were dire in anything other than sunshine.

I changed over to yokohama parada spec 2 on the front and handling is improved, road noise reduced (slightly) and grip in the wet is much better.

see if the guy at ABP still has his civic, (he had it a couple of weeks ago at a civic meet we went to), the single box magnex is loud....is that an issue?

The guys at ABP say the upgrade improves steering no end and the guy I met with the decatted system said it made his car a dream.

I swapped to Toyo Proxis T1 S when the originals were past their best, these have improved wet grip no end but are wearing out about twice as quick as the Bridgestones

I'd have liked a go in their Civic but don't suppose they'd have let me. It was about as fettled as you could get.

Loud box is an issue...a positive one when I'm on my own! Just hope the volume dies down a bit when you drive 'normally' with the missus on board.
