I have it in mind to get a set of winter wheels and tyres for my Juke ready for this winter. Has anyone done this?

As the ride is quite harsh on the existing set with low profile tyres, I am thinking about getting a set of wheels an inch smaller but with tyres with a larger side wall to compensate.

Aside from the tyre pressure monitoring system which will presumably not like it, is it as simple as this? Taking off 1 inch off the wheel size and adding it to the tyres?

Thanks smile

Check with your insurer. Most will have no issue wirh winter tyres but changing wheel size might be a problem, especially if it isnt manufacturer approved.

I swap them every year on my 4WD Nismo RS auto.

Make all the difference ,never got stuck once in last years bad snow.

Found some 2nd hand Nismo wheels on ebay and had winter tyres fitted, same size as my summer tyres.

Can find some already fitted with winter tyres on ebay.

Good point!

Maybe I'll just stay with the same size then.

Thanks for the tips folks, Ebay does indeed have full sets working out at around £340 for a set.

Edited to add: not £340 for my size unfortunately! They all seem to be 16 inch in that price area...
