Jap saloon - advice

Hi all,
Bit of a different 'What car' thread. I've been on the look out for a new car for a while, I'm not in a hurry but a new job means I'm doing fewer miles so would like a nicer, petrol car.
I was looking at BMW 325i's, but have moved away from them to a Lexus IS250. Is there anything else I should be looking at over the IS? I'd like something around the same size, 200ish bhp. I know the IS isn't the fastest car, but as long as it's a bit quicker than my current diesel golf I'll be happy.
Buying used, budget 5-8k.
Am I missing anything obvious?
Suggestions on a postcard.
Ta,
Joe.

+1 for CL7 Euro R.You won't be disappointed. Happily potters round town between 1-2.5krpm without a peep, then revs to nearly 9krpm and handles like a hot hatch when you want it to.
My Instagram is @skewy if you want to see some photos/videos, I also have a 'build thread' on here if you look through my topics.
Yeah, 4 door can come with pretty much all the same engines, RB25 etc
I dont think the twin turbo RB26 can be found 4 door but a rare non-turbo RB26 is available
Plenty of 2.5 turbo 4 doors and the older 2.0 turbo's
Personally, a RB25 Laurel looks nicer to me, likely cheaper

Yeah I sold my R33 GTS-T and I've got a S180 series Crown Athlete 60th Anniversary, looks like this but with higher km's!

3.5 V6 with an auto sounds like a right laugh with four doors for carting family around

Leaves Japan tomorrow, ETA UK is end of December then I imagine I'll pick it up a month later when Torque have finished making it legal.
When I got the Skyline I was so focused on getting it that I didn't look elsewhere - it was my dreamcar, and it proved that you can meet your heroes as it was brilliant.
This time I was looking at all sorts as my criteria was much broader and all it did was make me fall for JDM metal more and more. Going to do some bits to the Crown whereas the Skyline I kept bone stock!!
