Japchatters @ Vmax8?????
Discussion
There is a reserve list and Craig told me I'm at the top - must've missed out on a place by the tinyest of margins!
Feels wrong to be hoping people drop out but I hope someone drops out for a good reason (like they win the lottery and have to go pick the cheque up!).
I'd suspect that at least one person will pull out so there should be 2 there at least!

But really? You can go faster in Germany as you don't run out of road and it doesn't take any skill to nail it in a straight line, not really a test of anything other than who has the biggest wallet or account with Ruf IMO.
You are quite correct. To me, having been to every VMAX from the start, the most important thing is the social side, meeting up with the lunatics I talk to on PH, that due to work/family commitments don't have time to do things like the Eurohoons or the drinking sessions, but can take the time out to do a single day in the middle of the country for a bit of hoonage and banter.

that and watch/listen to awesome cars fly by.

Wouldn't it be more fun to do a track day instead of simply seeing how fast you can drive in a straight line?
No. The most fun in my opinion is to be had doing both.
Variety is the spice an' all that. VMax represents something a little different from track days, and is a fun, social and very safe way of driving quickly and being amongst fellow petrolhead lunatics.

Not necessarily - there are no guarantees of a clear autobahn, and the presence of armco a maximum of two or three lanes away mean there is considerably greater risk. At least all of the other cars to be avoided at Bruntingthorpe are the ones parked at the end of the runway.
