Hi,
I'm going to import a car from Japan to the Uk and considering a Honda Nbox.
It will however be under 10 years so needs an iva test. Is there anyway I can check if it will pass (I know it will need floglight and speedo conversion)? I think headlamps have to comply with Eu law etc and can find much info about the car.
Cheers

Ive not had to do an IVA but was always put off by the risk of basically having to get the car here, pay all those costs and then run the risk that it wont pass the emissions tests.
The other items like fog light, speedo etc should be simple as they are physically changes, but the emissions will be a risk.
I would assume no model report exists for it yet, so if you did do it, you could essentially sell the model report but that depends how many people really want a Nbox.
There is a fairly thorough listing of all the IVA tests done on the DVLA website, most should be fine but there are quite a list of things covering seat safety, Co2/Fuel, vision etc
So, sorry, I'm babbling on, but the truth is there will be no guarantee that it will pass. It may be worth trying to get in touch with a test centre and discussing the exact model with them. Unfortunately as we didnt get any real K-car boxes, it may be a hard one for them to compare to anything else.

Hi there,
Did you get hold of your N Box directly from Japan if so was it doable and not too expensive as I consider ordering a brand new one from Japan this year just wanted to know the grey spots to be aware on dvsa as I've been told by dvla it's 10% duty +, 20% Tax to HMRC and then the registration cost £55 plus base Road tax £150pa will need to provide a valid inspection certificate of conformity of the vehicle which can be accepted from the manufacturer from Japan to detail make, model year cc spec etc and authorised according
