Evening all,

Thinking of a Qashqai for my wife, it will be a 2014 onwards (probably 14 or 15 plate) with the 1.2l 113bhp engine.

Anything in particular to look out for?

What are Nissan dealerships like for after service?

Is it worth going for one with the parking assist / Nav stuff?

TIA,
James

We have a 2017 Qashqai. Personally I could live without the parking assist (I need it more in my Megane which has awful rear visibility!), but it is impressive with overhead camera and proximity sensors. Nav we really use but it works fine.

I find the proximity sensors a bit over active as they beep in normal driving regularly. It even cut power once when I jinked between a 'chicane' of parked cars at 30mph.

Our local Nissan dealers are fine, were very professional when ours went in for a service.
Did overcharge us for oil quantity but forgot to ask them about this. Personally would never bother with a main dealer unless it was under warranty.
Parking cameras and nav are good, pan roof is a waste of time in my opinion.
We traded in our 2015 model a few months ago for an xtrail but I could link you to the car for sale if you wanted a good one, it’s a 1.6 petrol though but a very nice low mileage clean car.

Thanks for the replies guys,

Zarco, having been to look at an "Acenta Premium" with the extra goodies mentioned, i am starting to doubt its worth the extra £, as the cars i have seen are double the mileage and feel/look it.

Belle, thanks for that! As much as i would like a Pistonhead'er pre-owned car, i imagine that the 1.6 2015 model will be above our budget. I can also see you are in wales, which is a bit too far to travel!

No problem, we took the car to Barnsley Nissan but that’s still a long way!
Options as suggested are a bit crap, try to avoid the bigger wheels as tyre prices are silly.
