Just got hold of a cheap 2007 Mazda 6 2.0d TS2 (yes I know, I should of expected dpf issues!)

Now the problem.

Car doesn't have any power, doesn't even try. It's painfully slow, no acceleration, no boost.

Launch obd reader brings up Soot Accumulation fault. Clearing the fault does nothing.

I have no lights on the dash. Car starts and idles normally. sometimes after starting the engine note changes as if it tries to regen the DPF (lower, echo type exhaust tone)

I've tried 4th gear, over 70mph, over 2000k revs for over ten minutes, does nothing.

The weird: the DPF was replaced at over £1000 2000 miles ago, early this month (march) by a respected London main dealer.

What are my options?

Do I do the wire trick to the engine diag port and try and force a regen?

Do i take it back to said london main dealer to resolve the fault? (I'm in Oxford, so it's a day out if needed)

Cheers
J

I'm no expert but there should be some kind of guarantee with the DPF .

Google throws up this little gem:

I've just found a possible cause. Low oil level.

Will source some Mazda DPF spec oil tomorrow, top up and take for a run. From what I've read up on it seems a regen is also specific on oil levels too.

Worst case, I'll ring the dealer on Tuesday and see what they suggest. It's only been 1500 miles (three weeks) since they fitted the new dpf so must be under warranty.

Cheers
Jamie
