Would I be asking for trouble using an RX8 to travel to a work place that is only 10-15 minute drive away?

I know the engines suffer if you turn them off soon after starting, I'm but not sure whether a 10-15 minute drive is ok or could cause me issues?

It's very short journeys like moving it on a drive that can cause flooding...if you are looking for one make sure you do all your research and know exactly what you are buying into.

Thanks I have done quite a bit of research on here and the rx8 forum, I just wasn't sure on what was classed as a 'short journey' in relation to possible flooding.

They will only possibly flood if you switch the engine off from a cold start after less than a minute or so.

A ten minute journey will be fine, especially if you have a chance to hit the rev beeps towards the end of the journey when it is warmed up.

You will be fine. Engine is warm enough to shutdown by 2 mins. It would be good to take it for a long blast every so often. Keeps the engine and battery healthy as well as being a lot of fun!

Carbon build up would be biggest concern - as other have said, give it a good thrash once its warmed up and drive it like its stolen from time to time smile

Should be fine; I use mine as a daily for a 10 minute drive to work and it's been ok. Just make sure you follow the cold shutdown procedure if the engine is still cold (hold revs at around 4k for 10 seconds or so).

As other people have said, make sure you thrash it every so often and try to hit the beep when it's safe to do so. 40mph limits are great for this as you hit the beep in 1st at around 40mph (in a 231 at least).

I tend to take mine out for a blast at the weekend to get rid of any carbon build-up.
