My insurance just got a lot nicer!
Discussion
I've been with Tesco for my car insurance ever since I got hold of the FTO, simply as they were the only guys that would insure it (me?) for less than the cost of the car.
This last year they fleeced me for £1500 + 19%APR for monthly payments, making it about £1700 a year! That was fully comp, 3 points from an SP60 a couple of years ago (straight after I got it ), no mods covered, 10k miles per year, just me to drive it, no leagal, no courtesy, £650 excess
I decided recently that I didn't want to pay that much for insurance on a good car, but not a fantastic car, so I've been looking around for a small volume British car (Marcos/Ginetta), or an homogonised(sp?) Japanese car (Evo/350Z).
One of the owner-clubs pointed me to the very nice guys over at Grayham-Sykes. I asked after a quote for the FTO while I was at it, and made sure everything was declared and up front to get the highest quote out of them I could.
They just called me back with a quote of less than 600 quid for the FTO
That's fully comp, unlimited mileage, and that WITH all my mods, the misses can drive it too, only £400 excess!
Bye Bye Tesco!

Thats the sort of story I've been wanting to hear today!!!
Unfortunatley I have just renewed the policy on the 'Four, but I have been informed to try Graham Sykes for my latest project (see here) so will have to do so tomorrow.
Oh, and good news about your insurance as well!!!

I'm 24, member of the owners club, and don't drink, otherwise pretty normal

Please be patient with them on getting a quote back, mine took a couple of weeks to get sorted out - they check all of the underwriters against your details.

will look into it!
do you frequent the FTOoc pages often (im DE3A)
M
I used to be on ftooc a LOT (I had something like a 30 posts per day average over 10 months - mostly crap, but still ). Not so much since I started looking at swapping my car - and I changed my job so I don't spend as much time on the net
Yeah, 10 yrs NCB would help!
I'm going to be asking G-S about track cover too for JapFest, hopefully it will be cheaper than the £70 for one-off 20 minute insure I'll get on the day

I'm pretty sure I have got the cheapest insurance I could and was fairly happy with it until I heard what she is paying. She said she didnt even have to look around hard either time for that genital operation then a loan for a Skyline....
