I recognise that engine. It was just sitting there on it's own. Wondered what it was for. Tried to put it in my pocket but it wouldn't fit

Ah, now MrE, it depends where you shop...

Indeed.

It could be a stupid amount of money if he bought it all here.

Do$h mostly Spent here.He rich man senior
I met this guy at Japfest last year, had the same massive single turbo. He'd had the car 2 days & was taking it out on the track.
There were only 2 track crashes at Japfest last year.
Any way it got tw*tted into a 'harder surface' at Camp corner.Quite a lot of body damage(took some pics).I managed to chat with him a couple of hours later & it always struck me as odd,to how cool & philosphical(sp?) he was about the whole thing.I'd have been in bits.
Few weeks later it's heard that the car is at Abbey having a complete 'redo'.Also that he has a 'fleet' of interesting fast, expensive cars.
Hey, he can afford to be cool about a little smash-up.

I'm starting a book on what will happen,on the track, this year-odds on?

can't see the point in wasting good money on getting a big horsepower car from scratch. its not like you can say you did it yourself. you didnt - abbey did. you were the muppet who gave abbey £50k! well done to abbey on two counts (Abbey... it's about you and your money? )

much more sensible to buy a ready-tuned car

Fair point, did think about it, but most ready tuned (ie 600bhp+) were 23 grand...

Or if your shadowninja.. alot less than that

Abbey haven't worked on this car (yet). It's a GT-S, not a GT-R.

The owner also has a stripped-out R32 GT-R painted gold with Top Secret stickers - this is what the car crashed at JapFest was reshelled into.

even £23k is cheaper than buying a standard car for about £10k and "investing" £50k

The black R32 with the enormous turbo(of JapF fame)is now the gold top secret one.?

Yes, the running gear was put into a shell that had been in Abbey's "graveyard". It has a totally stripped interior and has had quite a bit more tuning since then.

There are quite a few GT-Rs around these days with bigger turbos than a T78...
