Mr2 g limited auto opinions
Discussion
Broadened my search for a car recently and have always liked the mk2. One turned up yesterday which seemed outstanding. A few messages were swapped and more photos were sent only to reveal it was an automatic. The car itself ticks a lot of boxes but the auto is an issue and I would take some convincing. Anyone have any experience of these?
like all autos it is ok 90% of the time. but when you're in that 10% zone it is awful.
specifically, if you're "pressing on" round a bend or off a roundabout, the car will grip cos it is well set up, but then the box will change gear on you and that moment of loss of drive will upset the car and possibly cause a spin. which it did to me.
so if you're the kind who presses on... get a MR2 Mk3!
seriously, the manual is better

There's still plenty of mk2s available so if you want a manual there's no point settling for something you don't want, besides it's much more fun shifting gears when you're out on a B road blast
I'm looking for an unmolested one in the top end price bracket and at the moment there doesn't look to be to much about. There is one I hope to view when I go on holiday at the end of next week provided it doesn't sell in the meantime.kuro said:

...then wait. dont jump in on a bad one just cos it comes a month or two quicker. get the one you want.Gassing Station | Japanese Chat | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
