If it makes you feel better, the first thing should be classed as a good point

IMHO the Apexi filter is the dogs' danglies, tho those massive green HKS mushrooms prolly make more noise.

Sorry to hear you dinged your new wheels,re-furb job?

Two things:

First, was bidding on E-bay for a HKS air filter, started at £14, and over 6 days worked up to £40, all hunkey dory, then today a load of newbies to the auction start bidding, I put a bid on at £70, then leave for work. Some scum sucker put a bid on for £72 with under a minute left and won the sodding thing!!!

If you can't beat them join them. Every auction I bid on now goes through that, with my bids going in 5 second before the end.

There's a review of some aftermarket filters here. Apexi comes out best:

Just installed the Apexi kei on my FD... if it works as well on the Sup then you'll be laughing all the way. The HKS kit didn't fill me with any confidence in it's ability to filter stuff out and the Apexi looks better

That has been doing the internet rounds for the last 3-4 years IIRC.

We don't know what mag it's from or who sponsered it.

I run HKS. I know several very high powered cars running HKS. We've never seen any impellor blade wear at all....

www.turbocalculator.com/sale-garrett.php

(They do complete kits too)
Couldn'd find any exhausts on the JL site-exhaust manifolds, but no pipes!? I expect he'd do a special order for you,so long as you know what you want.

TRD don't make much kit for Mazdas Their stuff is quality but expensive according to a mate with a Celica GT4!

There's a couple of really good specialist tuners in Japan who I'd use exclusively if it weren't for the price of their kit (Re-Amemiya and Feed particularly).

In the FD community people generally use Apexi and HKS but I've heard really good things about the K&N stuff although they don't do a full replacement kit (just filters)

One main advantage of the Apexi filters over, say,K&N & HKS is that it is a dry system,so filters don't need any oiling. The light oil acts to trap dust particles(which is good) but can get sucked onto AFM etc surfaces(which can be bad)
