Hi

The exhaust on my 1997 MR2 Rev 4 needs replacing but my local exhaust places can't get the parts.

Anyone have any ideas / recommendations please?

It is a standard UK car and I'd like to try and keep it as close to standard as possible.

Thanks.

Where are you based? I'm in Worthing near Brighton, and have a pair of MR2 MK2 exhausts in the garage I need to get rid of - one of them is a standard exhaust from a Rev 1 or 2, I can't remember if the exhaust changed significantly between the early revisions and rev 4, but if you're local you're welcome to it.

Thanks for the offer, but the exhausts do differ. I know Rev 4 has a cat and the engine was different.

Cat back or full sysytem?
Finding a s/h stock exhaust in decent condition won't be easy.
New, your choices are:
- Mr T (local dealer parts department): check avaliability.
- Speak to Trevor or Ben.
The latter has a cat back currently listed on Fleabay btw.

Just an update:

I found an excellent place called Mr Exhaust in Reigate.

They appear to be able to get / make / repair any exhaust for any car. They could have got me a new exhaust but said it was fine and they could just repair one of the joints at a fraction of the cost.

What a result.
